ANIMAL JUSTICE ACADEMY LUNCHTIME LIVE:
Animal Activists on Trial: Q&A with The Excelsior 4

A group of Canadian animal activists know as The ‘Excelsior 4’ are going on trial at the end of June and facing years in prison for exposing egregious animal cruelty at Excelsior Hog Farm in BC.

Roy Sasano, Amy Soranno, Nick Schafer, and Geoff Regier were charged with 21 indictable offences (the highest criminal level in Canadian court) for revealing what happens to animals inside factory farms. Following the pre-trial hearings, Geoff’s case was stayed, but the three remaining activists are scheduled to go on trial by jury for 4-weeks beginning June 27.

They're using this opportunity to further expose the rampant violence and suffering in animal agriculture, as well as a justice and enforcement system that criminalizes activists and conceals animal cruelty on farms.

In this AJA Lunchtime Live, The Excelsior 4 members heading to court -- Amy, Nick, and Roy -- will join us to give the low-down on how trial preparation is going, their strategy for putting animal ag on trial, and what they've learned so far from the process. They'll also be answering questions from the community.

*We invite folks to have their video on during this event to enhance the sense of community, but it’s not mandatory
