Making Cages History with Corporate Campaigns
Animal Justice Academy
Lunchtime Live
With PJ Nyman, Animal Justice Corporate Campaigns Manager
12pm - 1pm
Hens crammed into battery cages, baby cows shivering isolated in veal hutches, and pigs crammed into gestation crates not able to even turn around. These are the most severe forms of confinement of animals on this planet and they're all driven by the food industry.
While passing laws to protect animals and inspiring people to change their eating habits is the ultimate goal, waiting on these slow-moving shifts feels inadequate when billions of beings are suffering in such extreme confinement. That's where corporate cage-free campaigns come in.
In this Zoom event on July 24th, Animal Justice's Corporate Campaigns Manager, PJ Nyman, will fill us in on how pressure campaigns targeting grocery chains—who are much more responsive to public outcry—can be an effective tool to force the animal agriculture industry to end some of its most abusive practices. We'll also discuss how incremental changes can contribute to the bigger goal of animal liberation.
We'll dive into Animal Justice's cage-free work, our current battle for caged hens, and an ambitious campaign we're about to launch against a major Canadian grocer that has a big role in it for YOU!
We invite folks to have their video on during this event to enhance the sense of community, but it’s not mandatory
